Review: 23 Years Old Inthera Silfting Petit Mask ★☆☆☆☆

23 Years Old Inthera Silfting Petit Mask features a silfting sheet and hyaluronic acid-based essence to strengthen the elasticity of skin around the eyes, lips, and forehead. Those 3 places are where most of my fine lines are so I thought this sheet mask is going to be perfect for me. The principle behind a netted silfting sheet is its ability to lift up the skin.

Key ingredients:

  • Anemarrhena Asphodeloides Root Extract – a skin conditioning ingredient that promotes lipid storage leading to a cosmetic lipofilling-like effect
  • Hyaluronic Acid – retains skin moisture levels and promotes collagen synthesis

Out of the packet, I caught a faint floral fragrance. I was a little taken aback as soon as I saw the sheet mask.

23 Years Old Inthera Silfting Petit Mask

Material

The silfting sheet looked like a net made out of fishing line. It was held together by a plastic backing.

Essence was clear and viscous. It had a gel-cream consistency. Most of the essence stayed in the packet after I’ve retrieved the sheet mask. Due to its net-like structure, it was unable to absorb and hold the essence like most sheet masks can.

23 Years Old Inthera Silfting Petit Mask

During masking

The material was so light that it felt weird placing it on my skin. Once it was on, part of my face started to feel itchy from the unfinished edges tickling at my skin. Fit was bad and it was a huge challenge trying to adjust it. Adherence was lacking as well. I tried to flatten the material against my skin as best as I can by spreading the excess essence on top of the netted sheet. It barely clung onto my skin even with the aid of the viscous and tacky essence. I took it off after 20 mins per the instructions.

23 Years Old Inthera Silfting Petit Mask

23 Years Old Inthera Silfting Petit Mask

After masking

The thick viscous essence seemed to have set on my face. It was so tacky that it felt like glue, which made it really difficult to massage or pat into the skin. So I misted all over my face to get the sticky essence to emulsify a little and it worked. Massaging and patting it into my skin felt like I was applying my regular hydrating serum. Finish was tacky and tacky.

My skin felt intensely hydrating and moisturized, with some calming effects. Dry skin might need a moisturizer over this but my combo skin felt fine without it. Not recommended for oily skin type. I did not notice any lifting or anti-wrinkle effects.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

I don’t think the net-like silfting sheet did anything for me. I enjoyed the thick hydrating essence though. If this product were a bottle of essence and not a sheet mask, I’ll probably like it more. Check out more 23 Years Old reviews here.

Review: Let Me Skin Ultra H2O Modeling Mask – Green ★★★☆☆

Let Me Skin Ultra H2O Modeling Mask - Green

The concept of modeling or “rubber” masks isn’t foreign by now, they are ubiquitous and nearly everyone who knows a thing or two about skincare is sure to have used one at some point. They are a step-up from regular sheet masks and have a gooey consistency. This allows the user to apply the mask according to their face shapes and sizes, hence getting the best fit and adherence. The concept behind these “rubber” masks is to create a seal between your skin and the mask, thus preventing moisture loss and allowing the nutrients to be delivered efficiently into the skin.

Let Me Skin Ultra H2O Modeling masks come in 3 variants:

  • Green – Soothing
  • Pink – Brightening
  • Blue – Firming

The one I’m testing out today is the green soothing variant. It claims to calm irritated skin with ingredients such as centella asiatica extract and chamomile. Other beneficial ingredients include:

  • Niacinamide is the top hero ingredient for brightening skin for a more even, luminous complexion
  • Antioxidant-rich licorice, green tea, ginger and chamomile soothe and protect skin from damage
  • Hydrolyzed collagen helps to plump and firm skin
  • Avocado oil works to replenish fatty acids so skin has a youthful, healthy bounce

I really appreciate that this modeling mask pack comes with individually packed powder, gel and even a reusable spatula. There is absolutely no way to mess the ratio up since the masking experience should be a relaxing one, not a challenging one. Each capsule contains enough product for 2 uses and the capsule itself can be used as a mixing bowl.

Contents:

  • 2 x 50g gel base
  • 2 x 5g solution
  • 1 x spatula

Instructions:

  1. Open Solution 1 and pour it into a mixing bowl
  2. Open Solution 2 and add it to Solution 1 in the same mixing bowl
  3. Stir for 30 seconds
  4. Use spatula to apply the mask onto your face
  5. Leave mask on for 20-30 minutes
  6. When the mask has dried, simply remove it and finish up with your normal skincare routine

The first packet came out as a dull blue gel. It had a pretty strong perfumey fragrance. It was really easy to squeeze everything out without masking a mess.

The second packet surprised me a little. Instead of the usual white powder, this came out as a white liquid. This was an advantage since white powders usually kick off during the stirring process. It did not give off a scent.

Let Me Skin Ultra H2O Modeling Mask - Green

After a few quick stirs, the mixture just looked and smelled like the gel base from the first packet.

Let Me Skin Ultra H2O Modeling Mask - Green

During masking

There was a nice cooling sensation the moment it touched my skin. Application was a breeze even though I’m not good at spreading modeling masks. Despite looking like a dripping swamp monster, the mixture was actually firmer than most modeling masks I’ve tried. It did not flow down as fast as the others. But I still had to lay down for the first 10 mins to let it entirely set so it would stop flowing down further. Once it was set, it stayed put even though I slathered on a really thick layer in order to use all of it up. After that, I was able to go about with my activities without the need to lay down. There was a mild minty sensation the entire time.

The instructions had waiting time set for 20 mins, but I personally found it too short as the mask was still pretty damp even though the jelly has set. So I waited a total of 1 hour, during which I was really tempted to remove the mask due to the intense fragrance.

Let Me Skin Ultra H2O Modeling Mask - Green

The right way to peel this off is from the bottom up. But the whole piece just came sliding off my face once I detached it at the chin. It felt really satisfying to get the whole piece off. Modeling masks usually come off in bits and pieces. It felt like jello and I had so much fun with it!

Let Me Skin Ultra H2O Modeling Mask - Green

After masking

There was little to no essence left to pat in. Finish was tacky and dewy at first but dried down silky and only slightly tacky after 30 mins.

Visually, there didn’t seem to be any drastic difference to my skin, except for the dewy finish. My skin felt very hydrated and moderately moisturized. There was an uncomfortable hydrating film on top of my skin which made me very tempted to wipe it off with a toner-soaked cotton. But I decided to leave it on and skip the rest of my skincare routine.

My skin also looked slightly less red, which was disappointing for a mask that’s meant to calm skin down. I did not observe any change to my skin texture.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

I’ve used better modeling masks. Considering the price of this mask and the effects I got, I’d say this was a disappointment. My favorite Aqua Bab modeling mask still remains the unbeaten champion in the modeling mask department.

Review: Mamonde Narcissus Flower Lab Essence Sheet Mask ★★.☆

Mamonde Narcissus Flower Lab Essence Sheet Mask is a replenishing mask that aims to quench dry skin and retain moisture.

Narcissus flower bulbs store abundant reserves of water, allowing the flowers to flourish in the early summer and infusing Mamonde skincare with powerful hydration benefits. Through years of research and cultivation in the Mamonde Garden, Mamonde specialists unveiled one of the best hydrating properties of Narcissus flowers.

Once in bloom, Narcissus flowers have the ability to circulate hydration between multiple flower heads. The low molecular water extracted from the Narcissus flower will help the skin lock water in for a more intense hydration in even the most dehydrated skin.

Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Magnolia Kobus Branch/Flower/Leaf Extract (2,000PPM), Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Panthenol, Arginine, Allantoin, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Saccharide Isomerate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Fragrance, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid

Before masking

My skin is feeling dehydrated and slightly sensitive. I’ve cleansed, exfoliated, and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Mamonde Narcissus Flower Lab Essence Sheet Mask

Material

Out of the packet, I caught a pretty strong floral fragrance. The light fit sheet, made from eucalyptus tree pulp, had a medium thickness and felt moderately soft. It did not come with any backing. Essence was clear and had a gel-like consistency. The sheet was both drenched in and coated with the essence.

Mamonde Narcissus Flower Lab Essence Sheet Mask

During masking

Fit was mostly great! The sheet was large enough to cover my entire face with some excess on the sides. The holes were perfectly lined up with my features. The only thing I didn’t like was how small the holes were.

Adherence was good. I noticed some air bubbles surfacing throughout the wear. Aside from that, the fold lines and edges stayed down for the most part. The sheet clung on pretty well.

I took the mask off after 30 mins, it was starting to dry out. Sections of the sheet was already turning white, especially around my forehead.

Mamonde Narcissus Flower Lab Essence Sheet Mask

Mamonde Narcissus Flower Lab Essence Sheet Mask

After masking

There was lots of essence left on my skin. Massaging the essence into my skin felt like I was applying a thick hydrating serum. It took awhile to full absorb/dry down, leaving behind a slightly tacky and dewy-looking finish.

My skin felt very hydrated and moisturized. This is not suitable for oily skin types. Combo skin might need to wipe down the excess with a toner-soaked cotton. Dry skin types will enjoy this mask.

My skin felt plump and bouncy from all that hydration. But aside from the intense hydration, I did not notice any other effects on my combo skin.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

Considering the price and effects of this mask, I don’t think this is worth the splurge. There are plenty of masks out there that provide intense hydration and much more, at a more affordable price point. Check out more Mamonde reviews here.

MD's Pick A.C Clarifying Water Rubber Mask

Before masking

My skin is feeling dehydrated today. There are also a couple of healing pimples along my jawline and outer cheek that look like brown spots. I’ve cleansed, exfoliated, and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

I have a love-hate sentiment about modeling masks sets that come with disposable spatula and mixing tray. On one hand it’s really convenient to have but on the other hand it’s not environmentally-friendly.

The mask base squeezed out very easily and was pretty much scentless. The fine green powder, on the other hand, gave off a light menthol scent. However, the powder was so fine that it kicked off a cloud of green dust the moment I started mixing. Good thing I wasn’t looking straight at it or it would gone into my eyes.

It was really easy to get them to mix evenly. Just a few quick stirs and it turned into a homogeneous green slime. There was no way to tell that they were made up of 2 different materials. It wasn’t giving off any significant scent.

MD's Pick A.C Clarifying Water Rubber Mask

During masking

I’ve always found the application of modeling masks very challenging. Pressing too hard would not get a thick enough layer on my face while pressing too soft doesn’t spread it well.

That aside, I really enjoyed the cooling sensation on my irritated skin the moment the mask touched my face. There was more than enough product for a thick and even layer. Unlike Shangpree Green Modeling Mask, this wasn’t as drippy and I was able to complete the application and lay down before the drips occur.

I laid down for the first 10 mins to let the mask set so it doesn’t continue to flow downwards. The cooling sensation sustained throughout the entire hour of masking. The mask has set but it still felt moist to the touch.

Nudging the edges allowed me to slip a finger under the mask and lift the whole thing up. It came off very easily in one piece.

MD's Pick A.C Clarifying Water Rubber Mask

MD's Pick A.C Clarifying Water Rubber Mask

After masking

There was hardly any essence left to pat in. Finish was slightly tacky and looked dewy, which I found strange for a clarifying type mask since most acne-prone skin are also oily.

My skin felt very hydrated and looked amazing! Skin tone was even and radiant, and redness was completely gone. I think it did a great job at improving my skin texture. Pores were looking smaller, fine lines and pitted scars were plumped, creating a smooth complexion. I felt so refreshed and so elated to look like I was born with such amazing skin.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

This modeling mask was really effective on my skin. I like both the Goji variant and this one just the same. The Goji variant gave me a brighter and calmer complexion but this Clarifying one is more hydrating. Still, both cannot be compared to Shangpree when it comes to quality. Nevertheless, they are still pretty amazing and serve as a more affordable and value-for-money alternative. Check out more MD’s Pick reviews here.

Review: 23 Years Old Cacao Energy Modeling Mask ★★★☆☆

23 Years Old Cacao Energy Modeling Mask

23 Years Old Cacao Energy Modeling Mask is the brand’s latest addition to their line of modeling masks. The other variants are Aqua Bab and C-Tragel, both of which I have reviewed. This Cacao Energy variant is a nourishing care rubber mask treatment formulated to treat and prevent charging of skin energy and moisture loss, while combating damage caused by environmental stress.

It contains cocoa seeds, chia seed, lavender oil and other nourishing ingredients to moisturize, calm and infuse nutrition into tired skin It also helps to strengthen the skin defense barrier and restore its health.

23 Years Old Cacao Energy Modeling Mask

Modeling masks always make me feel so fancy, because they used to only be available at spas. But with the increasing popularity of Korean masks, these have become a common item in beauty enthusiasts’ households.

23 Years Old Cacao Energy Modeling Mask

One important thing to note about masks from 23 Years Old, they all come with a holographic authentication or anti-counterfeit sticker. These modeling masks will have a vertical banner sticker while sheet masks will have a rectangular sticker. That’s how you know if what you’ve bought is the real deal. Another fail-safe method is to only shop at trustworthy websites.

23 Years Old Cacao Energy Modeling Mask

My first experience with modeling mask is with a humongous ziplock pack of pink powder where I had to measure out the appropriate amount of powder to water ratio with measuring spoons and cups. It is extremely challenging to get the perfect consistency and frustration often ensues.

23 Years Old Cacao Energy Modeling Mask

Hence I really appreciate that this modeling mask pack comes with individually packed powder, gel and even stirring sticks for 4 uses. There is absolutely no way to mess the ratio up since the masking experience should be a relaxing one, not a challenging one.

Contents:

  • 4 x 5g powder packs
  • 4 x 50g gel packs
  • 4 x popsicle sticks

$34.90 on Amazon.

Gel pack:
Aqua, Glycerin, Glucose, PEG-75, Algin, Butylene Glycol, Potassium Chloride, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Roor Extract, Schizandra Chinensis Fruit Extract, Coptis Japonica Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Propolis Wax, Caprylyl Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Trisodium Phosphate, Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate, Niacinamide, Cellulose Gum, Allantoin, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Fruit Powder, Avena Sativa (Oat) Meal Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Pueraria Mirifica Root Extract, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Copper Tripeptide-1, Ethylhexylglycerin, Adenosine, Simmondsia Chinenses (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Disodium EDTA, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil

Powder pack:
Glucose, Calcium Sulfate, Salvia Hispanica Seed, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Niacinamide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Powder

23 Years Old Cacao Energy Modeling Mask

Before masking

My skin is feeling dry and slightly irritated. I’ve cleansed and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Instructions:

  1. Mix the gel pack and the powder pack in the mixing bowl.
  2. Stir the mixture with the spatula well until completely mixed.
  3. Using the spatula, apply evenly over the entire face.
  4. When dried after about 20 minutes, remove the mask, gently peeling in the upward direction starting at the bottom.
  5. Lightly tap the remaining essence onto the skin to allow full absorption.

I’ve rinsed out the container that the masks came in, it’s the perfect size to contain the mixture. Again, I really appreciate how thoughtful the entire packaging design is.

The 50g of golden brown jelly went in first. It was easy to squeeze everything out without making a mess. The golden brown jelly gave off a mild minty scent.

5g of fine white powder went into the bowl next. It was finely milled and contained little black bits which I suspected were the cocoa seeds. The powder was so fine that it resembled powdered sugar. I did not detect any scent coming from the powder alone because I was afraid that sniffing might just turn into snorting. After a few quick stirs with the popsicle stick provided, the mixture was ready to go.

23 Years Old Cacao Energy Modeling Mask

During masking

There was a nice cooling sensation the moment it touched my skin. Application was a breeze even though I’m not good at spreading modeling masks. Unlike the Aqua Bab and C-Tragel variants, this variant had a runnier consistency. So I decided to let it dry down for 5 mins before starting application. I had to lay down for the first 10 mins to let the mask set, otherwise it would’ve dripped all over the place. Once it was set, it stayed put even though I slathered on a really thick layer in order to use all of it up. After that, I was able to go about with my activities without the need to lay down.

The instructions had waiting time set for 20 mins, but I personally found it too short as the mask was still pretty damp even though the jelly has set. So I waited a total of 1 hour.

23 Years Old Cacao Energy Modeling Mask

The right way to peel this off is from the bottom up. But the whole piece just came sliding off my face once I detached it at the chin. It felt really satisfying to get the whole piece off. Modeling masks usually come off in bits and pieces. It felt like jello and I had so much fun with it!

23 Years Old Cacao Energy Modeling Mask

After masking

There was still see some brownish essence left on my skin. It absorbed with ease after a few quick pats. The brownish essence gave my skin a slight brownish tone. If I had intended to head out that day, I would’ve wiped it off with a toner-soaked cotton pad. Finish was tacky and dewy at first but dried down matte after 10 mins.

My skin felt very hydrated without an uncomfortable layer of hydrating film on top. Skin felt very supple and bouncy. Skin also looked and felt very calm, with smaller pore size. I did not observe any whitening/brightening effect but my skin was giving off a radiance that looked like it was coming from within. Moisturizer was optional but I slapped on a light layer anyway because my dehydrated skin has issues retaining moisture. My skin felt very healthy and balanced.

The effects were similar to my favorite Aqua Bab variant. I was overjoyed at first because that meant this made it into my HG modeling mask. However, the effects only lasted 3 hours. After that, my redness returned and skin wasn’t as plump anymore.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

My favorite Aqua Bab modeling still remains the unbeaten champion in the modeling mask department. This Cacao Energy variant wasn’t bad but I think my sensitivity issue is pretty serious, only the Aqua Bab variant is able to keep it at bay. I’ll still recommend trying it out because masks from this brand seldom disappoint. Check out more 23 Years Old reviews here.

23 Years Old Cocktail Velvet Petit Mask

Material

Out of the packet, I caught a faint rose fragrance. It reminded me of 23 Years Old’s Rose Gold 24 Mask. The material felt like a thick microfiber, and did not come with a backing. It felt very smooth and unfolded and applied easily without it though.

23 Years Old Cocktail Velvet Petit Mask

Milky essence

30 ml of essence had a milky consistency and was rather drippy. After pulling out the sheet mask from the packet, there was more than a palm-full of essence left. I proceeded to slather this all over my body since I liked the scent of the essence.

23 Years Old Cocktail Velvet Petit Mask

During masking

Fit was above average on my face. The entire sheet was on the small side, covering the inner perimeter of my face. I also found the material above my upper lip a little too long. It was covering my upper lip throughout the entire masking session and was uncomfortable for me.

Adherence was average. The edges lifted around the rounder areas like forehead and chin. The material around my chin was completely detached.

I took the mask off after 30 mins, it was still very damp.

23 Years Old Cocktail Velvet Petit Mask

23 Years Old Cocktail Velvet Petit Mask

After masking

There was lots of essence left to pat in. It took quite awhile for it to absorb and dry down. The finish looked very dewy and felt slightly tacky.

My skin felt very hydrated and moisturized. There was a layer of velvety hydrating film over my skin. I couldn’t stop touching my cheeks for they felt so velvety, smooth, and soft! My skin also looked less red and slightly more radiant. Pore size has also been slightly reduced.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

This is a great one for people with dry skin and is only suitable for night use considering the finish. Even as a person with combo and dehydrated skin, I still enjoyed using this and highly recommend it to anyone with dryness issue!

Polatam Water Gel Extra Force Brightening Sheet Mask

Before masking

My skin is feeling dry and slightly irritated. I’m also experiencing some dullness from spending a fun-filled weekend under the sun. I’ve cleansed, exfoliated, and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Polatam Water Gel Extra Force Brightening Sheet Mask

Material

Made of cupro fiber, the sheet mask had a medium thinness and felt plush and soft. It did not come with a backing. I thought it resembled a bandage gauze. The essence had a thick watery-gel consistency. It was giving off a strong cologne scent.

During masking

Fit was great! It was large enough to cover my entire face with some excess on the sides. The holes were also perfectly lined up with my features.

Adherence was great! There were no air bubbles and it stayed put throughout. I took the mask off after 30 minutes, it was still very damp.

Polatam Water Gel Extra Force Brightening Sheet Mask

Polatam Water Gel Extra Force Brightening Sheet Mask

After masking

There was a lot of essence left to pat in. It took awhile to get it to absorb and dry down. Finish was tacky and looked dewy. There was a hydrating film sitting on top of my skin, which makes this perfect for dry skin or colder nights.

My skin felt extremely hydrated. I also noticed slight brightening and calming effects. The hydration quickly disappeared halfway through the day. I attribute this to my dehydration-prone skin. If you have the same issue, please apply a moisturizer post-masking to seal the hydration in.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

This is a pretty average mask. The high amount of hydration I received could be easily achieved with other hydrating products in my routine. It will also take a shorter time and less hassle. This is also a pretty pricey mask considering how average it is. I won’t be repurchasing. Check out more Polatam reviews here.

Review: MD’s Pick Goji Water Rubber Mask ★★★★.☆

The concept of modeling or “rubber” masks isn’t foreign by now, they are ubiquitous and nearly everyone who knows a thing or two about skincare is sure to have used one at some point. They are a step-up from regular sheet masks and have a gooey consistency. This allows the user to apply the mask according to their face shapes and sizes, hence getting the best fit and adherence. The concept behind these “rubber” masks is to create a seal between your skin and the mask, thus preventing moisture loss and allowing the nutrients to be delivered efficiently into the skin.

MD’s Pick Water Rubber Masks come in 5 variants:

Before masking

My skin is feeling dry and slightly irritated. I’ve cleansed and lightly toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

I have a love-hate sentiment about modeling masks sets that come with disposable spatula and mixing tray. On one hand it’s really convenient to have but on the other hand it’s not environmentally-friendly.

The mask base squeezed out very easily and gave off a pretty strong floral scent. So did the snow melting powder. However, the powder was so fine that it kicked off a cloud of pink dust the moment I started mixing. Good thing I was looking straight at it or it would gone into my eyes.

It was really easy to get them to mix evenly. Just a few quick stirs and it turned into a homogeneous red slime. There was no way to tell that they were made up of 2 different materials.

I relaxed with a book for 35 mins, during which my nose suffered from the strong floral fragrance. The cooling sensation sustained throughout the entire masking session. The mask has set but it still felt moist to the touch.

Nudging the edges allowed me to slip a finger under the mask and lift the whole thing up. It came off very easily in one piece but my clumsiness did not handle the moist piece well and it ended up breaking in different places.

After masking

There was hardly any essence left to pat in. Finish was non-tacky and looked silky.

My skin felt very hydrated and looked amazing! Skin tone was even and radiant, and redness was completely gone. I think it did a great job at improving my skin texture. Pores were looking smaller, fine lines and pitted scars were plumped, creating a smooth complexion. I felt so refreshed and ready to take on the world!

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

This modeling mask was really effective on my skin. However, if I were to compare it to Shangpree Green Modeling Mask, it did not perform as well that. Plus, my skin condition was pretty bad when I tested out Shangpree. Still, this is alot more affordable than Shangpree’s and would serve as a good alternative. Check out more MD’s Pick reviews here.
